Police in Granby have identified the man who they said was involved in an incident with a jogger earlier this week.
A woman reported to Granby Police on Monday that while she was jogging in the area of West Street and Burnett Street on Sunday, a man came out of a field and tried to grab her.
Investigators noted that no contact was made.
Police were called to the same area on Sunday prior to the incident for a man who was reportedly running in the middle of the road.
The man was not identified as he was not doing anything wrong, police added the man was reluctant to speak with the officers.
Granby Police Chief Alan Wishart told Western Mass News on Thursday that that man came to police voluntarily after a family member recognized his description.
"The police department spoke with the male and his family members. The female jogger has been informed of the update and is satisfied with the explanation and response," Wishart explained.
Investigators noted that there is no reason to believe there is any danger or public safety risk at this point and thanked those who provided information on the incident and person.
"As always, please don’t ever hesitate to call the police department if something happens that doesn’t seem right," Wishart said.
